Looking at starting an Instagram page to reach more consumers? Take these tips into consideration when creating your outstanding profile.
Your bio
Introduce you or your company!
If relevant include your website and a description of what they can find there
Include a call to action in the last line to visit your website
Use relevant hashtags and keywords so consumers searching for your goods/services can find you

Stories
Swipe up links are only available to accounts with 10,000 followers or more and business accounts
Since this doesn’t include most start-ups, a work around is to include the link in your bio and promote it on your stories (this can be done through a relevant photo or video, or a scroll through the website)

Use polls, quizzes, countdowns, and questions to interact with your followers and drive engagement, keep in mind they don’t want to be advertised to all the time
If you want a solid coloured background, choose the pen tool, a colour and hold the screen.
Looking for a colour that’s not there? Hold a colour and you’ll be able to select whatever colour you want

Stories only last 24 hours, if it’s something consumers might want to revisit later, create a highlight. It’ll be available anytime on your profile
Post sizes
Long gone are the days where Instagram only allowed you to post square photos
Nowadays, there are better options like a portrait 4:5 ratio which uses up most of the screen space, and therefore takes longer to scroll past your post and more likely to attract the attention of your audience
Other landscape sizes are not ideal for the same reason

Other tools (that are free!)
linktr.ee: Instagram only lets you link one website. This tool lets you connect your audience with more than website; it’s like a website to websites
Lightroom: this app that gives your photos a boost. Our favourite think about this app is editing specific colours and lighting.
Canva: software used to create high quality and professional social media graphics. It is much easier to use than Photoshop (and cheaper!). This is an example from our Facebook page:
