Hi Enterprenerds! Came across this website few days ago through facebook and can definitely say I have been enjoying all of your posts since then! I think its awesome how you guys are providing essential and valuable information on marketing strategies for self-starting student entrepreneurs. As a self-employed tutor, I have been struggling to market my website especially to parents - who are my indirect but main customer segment. I was wondering if you guys had any insights into efficient marketing strategies to people who are not familiar with the usage of internet or social media in general?

Hi Irene, thanks for the positive feedback!
Great work with taking the initiative to start your own website. Getting parents to visit your website is challenging. Perhaps you could switch it up and go where the consumers are such as Gumtree (or similar job sites). Your ad is posted in front of a large audience including parents that are already looking for tutors. If you're tutoring locally, there's the added benefit of filtering searches by geography which can help the right consumers find you. You can also add your website in your ad to provide that a point of differentiation and build trust with parents. Convince readers why you're a great tutor such as your experience or outstanding results. Once you generate a loyal customer base, parents may refer you to other students which is extremely powerful.
Good luck Irene!
